Feeling like a "Freak"
One of the first times I felt like a “freak” was in 5th grade when I fell on my face and broke my two front teeth. The falling part wasn’t the bad part. It was after the fall when I had huge marks all over my face from the fall. Everyone would look at me and giggle or point and say something two there friends. I felt like an alien from some other world because of the way they would look at me. But my friends wouldn’t say anything so that helped me out. I finally got my two front teeth fixed and my scraps went away after a while. No one really talked about it after that. You can’t even tell that I broke my two front teeth. I really never had treated anyone like a “freak” before but my friend in first grade got a huge red thing on his lip. I am not sure what it was called but it wasn’t the prettiest thing to look at. Other kids would stay away from him and treat him like a “freak”. It was hard to stand up for him because everyone would make fun of you but I still told them that it was nothing to be worried about and to stop treating him differently. It worked but it took a while.
